Minister of Worship and Music
A Master of Arts degree preferred with an emphasis in church music and/or equivalent experience in church music. Proficiency in conducting skills and familiar with Lutheran liturgy/theology.
The Minister of Worship and Music is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of all parts of our music ministry. Including working with the pastoral staff in planning each worship service, with an emphasis on the liturgical and musical appropriateness for worship services; Securing/supervising organists/pianists for Bethel’s church services, including weddings, funerals, and special services such as at Advent, Lent, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.; Preparing and overseeing communications, mailings, copyright permission, and bulletin information related to the music program, in a timely manner in coordination with the Director of Communications; Providing oversight and assistance to all music groups and their directors, including scheduling, recruitment of participants, and enlistment of directors, accompanist, and their substitutes; Actively seeking, encouraging, developing, and supporting new individual/group talent for Bethel’s worship/music ministries; and performing other duties as assigned in keeping with the nature of the position.
